Find your Telangana Food Security Card in minutes — the right way.
If you’ve tried searching for your FSC before and gotten a blank result or an error page, you’re not alone. Most of the time it comes down to one of three things: the wrong search field, a district that doesn’t match your Aadhaar record, or an application that’s still sitting in review. This page walks through every legitimate way to search your Food Security Card, check where your application stands, and find your assigned ration shop, all pointing back to the official EPDS Telangana portal rather than asking you to hand over your details anywhere else.

All the ways to search your FSC in Telangana
There are four ways into the same EPDS database, and which one works best for you usually just depends on what you have in front of you. If your Aadhaar is properly linked, that’s the fastest route. If it isn’t, or you’ve never gotten around to linking it, searching by your existing FSC or UID number still works. Pick whichever one below matches what you’ve got.
Search by Aadhaar
Most common method — needs your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
Search by FSC / UID
Use your existing food security card number.
Search by Mobile Number
Works if your number is linked to the card.
Application Status
Track a new or corrected application.
Download Ration Card
Get a printable copy of your digital card.
Find Your FPS Shop
Locate the fair price shop assigned to you.
Card Types & Entitlements
PHH, AAY and what each one gets you.

What exactly is an FSC?
The Food Security Card, or FSC, is Telangana’s name for the document most Indians know as a ration card. It’s issued under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and gives listed households access to subsidised rice and other commodities every month through a nearby Fair Price Shop (FPS).
You’ll also see it written as TSFSC (Telangana State Food Security Card) or TG FSC — all three describe the same card.
FSC vs. a regular ration card
- Ration card — common informal name used across India
- FSC — Telangana's official term for the same card
- TSFSC — full form: Telangana State Food Security Card
- EPDS — the digital system that manages all FSC records

FSC Application Status — what each status means
The sequence is identical no matter which detail you’re searching with. Only step three changes.
- Open the official EPDS Telangana portal. Go to epds.telangana.gov.in directly by typing it in, rather than tapping a link someone sent over SMS or WhatsApp. Look-alike domains do exist.
- Select “FSC Search” from the home page. It sits in the citizen-services menu, usually labeled close to “Know Your Ration Card.”
- Choose your search type. Aadhaar number, FSC/UID number, mobile number, or MeeSeva application number, whichever you have on hand.
- Select your district and enter your details carefully. A single transposed digit in an Aadhaar number is the single most common reason a search comes back empty.
- Review what comes up. Your card type, listed family members, assigned Fair Price Shop and current status all appear on the same results screen. There’s nothing to download unless you specifically need a printed copy.
FSC application status, and what each result actually means
Applied for a new card, or asked for a correction like adding a family member or updating a name after Aadhaar linking? You can track it with your application reference number, Aadhaar number, or MeeSeva receipt number. Three outcomes show up:Approved. Your card is live. You can start collecting your monthly quota at your assigned Fair Price Shop right away, no waiting period.Pending. Field verification is underway. This genuinely can take a few weeks since it involves checking address, income and any existing cards on record. It's only worth following up in person if it's been sitting untouched for more than roughly 45 days [VERIFY: confirm current typical processing time, this can change with policy].Rejected. Usually means a duplicate card turned up somewhere, an income mismatch, or a document gap. The portal itself often won't spell out the exact reason in detail, so a MeeSeva visit is the fastest way to find out what to fix before reapplying.
- PHH (Priority Household) — 5 kg rice per member — for low-income families meeting NFSA limits
- AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana) — 35 kg rice per household (flat) — poorest of the poor, elderly/destitute households
- White Card (Above Poverty Line) — limited / non-subsidised benefits — households above the income threshold
- Pink Card (special category) — varies by scheme linkage — specific welfare-linked categories
Entitlements are set under NFSA guidelines and can be revised by government order — always confirm current quotas at your FPS or the EPDS portal.
Who is eligible for an FSC?
- Permanent resident of Telangana
- Household does not already hold another active ration card
- Falls within income limits set for BPL / low-income categories
- Priority for women-headed households, persons with disabilities, landless labourers
- All family and income details must be accurate and verifiable
Documents you'll need
- Aadhaar card for every family member
- Passport-size photo of the head of household
- Proof of residence (electricity or water bill)
- Income certificate
- Bank passbook for subsidy linkage
- A mobile number linked to Aadhaar
Who is eligible for an FSC?
Eligibility comes down to residency, income, and whether your household already holds a card somewhere else in India. In practice:
- You need to be a permanent resident of Telangana.
- Your household can’t already hold another active ration card, in this state or any other.
- Household income needs to fall within the BPL or low-income bracket the state sets.
- Priority goes to women-headed households, persons with disabilities, and landless agricultural labourers.
- Every family member’s details and the household income declared need to be accurate. Discrepancies here are the most common cause of rejection.
You’ll also see it written as TSFSC (Telangana State Food Security Card) or TG FSC — all three describe the same card.
What your FSC gets you beyond subsidised rice
Monthly grain quota
Subsidised rice from your assigned FPS every month.
Recognised ID document
Accepted as supporting proof of address and income for state schemes.
Scheme eligibility
Often used as supporting document for LPG subsidy, pension, housing schemes.
ONORC portability
Draw your entitlement from any FPS in India using Aadhaar authentication.
Digital verification
Check your card details online any time, no office visit needed.
Fraud protection
Aadhaar seeding and biometric checks reduce duplicate or fraudulent cards.
What your FSC gets you beyond subsidised rice
The rice quota is the obvious one, but the card ends up doing more work than people expect once it’s active.
It’s accepted as supporting proof of address and income across a number of state welfare schemes, which matters if you’re separately applying for something like LPG subsidy, a pension, or a housing scheme, since it saves you from producing a fresh set of documents each time. Under One Nation One Ration Card, you can also draw your monthly entitlement from any participating Fair Price Shop in India, not just the one you’re assigned to at home, which is genuinely useful if you work or study outside Telangana for part of the year. And because Aadhaar seeding and biometric checks at the shop counter reduce duplicate entries, the system is measurably less prone to the kind of fraud that used to plague the old paper-card era.
Everything can also be checked from a phone now. You don’t need to take a day off to stand in line just to confirm your card is active.
Common FSC search problems and quick fixes
- Search shows no record — Aadhaar not seeded — Visit your FPS with Aadhaar to complete e-KYC
- Application stuck on Pending — Field verification in progress — Wait 3-4 weeks, follow up at MeeSeva
- Aadhaar details mismatch — Name/DOB differs from UIDAI — Correct via UIDAI first, then re-link on EPDS
- Portal not loading — High traffic / cache issue — Try another browser or retry off-peak hours
- Don't know your FSC number — n/a — Search using Aadhaar instead
- Application rejected — Duplicate card or income mismatch — Check reason at MeeSeva and reapply
FSC search works the same way in all 33 Telangana districts
Whichever district you select on the portal, the search steps themselves don’t change, only the list of Fair Price Shops and local MeeSeva centres tied to that district.
Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Warangal Urban, Warangal Rural, Khammam, Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Mahbubnagar, Sangareddy, Medak, Siddipet, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Suryapet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Jangaon, Peddapalli, Rajanna Sircilla, Kamareddy, Nirmal, Jagtial, Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool, Jogulamba Gadwal, Vikarabad, Mahabubabad, Kumuram Bheem, Mulugu, Narayanpet.
Recent changes worth knowing about
Aadhaar e-KYC enforcement. Telangana has been rolling out mandatory biometric e-KYC at Fair Price Shops to clear out duplicate and ineligible entries. If yours is still pending, bring your Aadhaar card to your FPS. [VERIFY: current cut-off date directly on the EPDS portal before publishing, these deadlines get extended and re-announced periodically.]
Watch for look-alike sites. A number of independent sites use “FSC search” or “EPDS Telangana” in their name, this one included. The only official portal is epds.telangana.gov.in. Nothing on this page processes applications or stores your information; every actual transaction happens on the government site.

Why trust this guide
This site exists because the official process, while it works, isn’t always explained clearly in one place. We don’t process applications, we don’t store anything you type here, and we don’t represent any government department. What we do is check the steps against the EPDS Telangana portal and public notifications, and update the page when the process changes.
Where something is genuinely uncertain, like an exact cut-off date or a helpline number that could have changed, we say so rather than guess. That’s a deliberate choice, not an oversight.
